Digi-Blocks Math: March

This 3 session class is a concrete introduction to math skills developed by a Harvard professor who loves children. Students LOVE “playing” with these blocks! Lessons include, but are not limted to: counting, number sense, area, and perimeter. Ages 4-6.

Digital Literacy is a self-paced course testing competency in nine areas of computer/internet knowledge. Students will be issued a certificate of digital literacy upon completion and be able to use certificate to gain employment and show proficiency.

Students will continue to study grammar and its usage. Students will compose essays for a variety of purposes and audiences. Students will also write a research paper. Various genres of literature will be explored.

Students will work on basic grammar according to needs as determined by a pre-test. Students will gain job related English skills. Students will read, write, spell and become acquainted with literature across a span of time.

 

Golf I

Golf 1 is for the beginning player. Learn all the basic skills; the grip, the swing and the clubs, to enjoy the game of golf. The course also teaches the rules of golf, golf course etiquette and how to keep score. Students must have their own golf clubs.

Golf II

Golf II is for golfers with experience who want to improve and lower their handicap. The course focuses on eliminating any bad habits and perfecting golf swing. Students will learn about course management and the rules of golf.

Grow Your Own Organic Garden

Interested in learning how to grow your own vegetables in a sustainable manner? Join us for an evening long workshop on how to grow your own garden organically. We’ll talk about the basics of soil science and how to enrich your soil to produce healthy, high-yielding plants. The course will also cover the fundamentals of making and using compost, the principles of crop rotation and how to incorporate green manures and manage nutrients in the garden. Other topics will include how to tell the difference between cultivated plants and weeds, basic weed control strategies and cultural methods for dealing with pests. The instructor will be an experienced farmer or gardener from your region. We will even send you home with free seeds! All are welcome from first-timers to experienced gardeners who want to experiment with new techniques.
